Jill Murphy is my all time favorite Illustrator. I don't even know why shes not appeared on the blog yet. She wrote and Illustrated 'The Worst Witch' book series which were the first 'real' books I read. I think when you look at her silhouettes you can see where the inspiration for mine come from.
The detailed illustrations are just beautiful, i think its the faces I love most of all. The silhouettes are gorgeous and they just emphasize the whole magic of the books. This is what I love about silhouettes, they're mysterios and can be sometimes quite sinister and ominous. And all this from a simple blacked out image.
